Blondie was a popular rock band from United States. The founders of this band were Deborah Harry and Chris Stein. Blondie became popular in United States and Australia when the group released their first two albums in the 1970s. The next five years the band became more popular and released hit singles such as Heart of Glass, Call Me and Atomic. Blondie style of music was different from the other types of bands. But, the group did not work together for a long time, the band disbanded in1982, after releasing their sixth studio album. The group broke up because of various issues like financial management, slow ticket sales, drug abuse and Chris Stein skin disease. Besides that, the band canceled all the tours that, the group had planned.

One of the founders of the band Deborah Harry decided to go solo and he released two singles which never became successful. But, he decided to take a break so that, he could take care of Chris Stein. Chris was suffering from a disease known as autoimmune disease, but he recovered from the skin disease later. Blondie reformed in 1997.

In 1999, the group visited different types of countries worldwide to promote their songs. Since the band was formed, it has sold more than forty million records globally and it is very active up to today. The group released their ninth album in 2011.
