Lynyrd Skynyrd was a popular band from America. This band was popular because it was promoting the southern rock. Lynyrd Skynyrd was established in 1964. As the band became popular globally, three members of the band died because of an airplane crash. This tragic incident affected the band events and popularity. Apart from that, the band separated. But, the band was reformed in 1987 by members who survived.

The band members who survived were Leon Wilkeson, Ed king, Gary Rossington, Artimus Pyle and Gary Rossington. But, Ed king left the band before the other members died in a plane crash. The remaining members appointed Ronnie Van Zant’s as the lead singer of the band. Collins was appointed as the director of the band and was not able to perform on stage because he was suffering from pneumonia. Collins later passed away in 1990.

The reunited band line up went to several changes. Members of the band left one by one. Artimus decided to leave the band in 1991 and the band replaced him with Michael Cartellone. In 1996, Ed King decided to take a break from touring and the band replaced him with Hughie Thomasson. King said that, the break was only temporary but the band refused him to come back after he had fully recovered. Since the band re-united back they only became successful for a short time. When the band went for a tour in Atlanta, Al Kooper the producer of MCA was impressed by their performance. He signed the group to his record label.
